Daniel Jones has not been cleared for contact, and he has been ruled out for Sunday’s game in Miami, meaning Mike Glennon will be under center for Big Blue against the Dolphins.

“There’s been a series of checkups, and this morning we had a meeting with the medical team,” head coach Joe Judge said. “Based on the information that was given, the decision that was best for Daniel was to keep him out of this game.”

Jones apparently suffered a neck injury on the second play against the Eagles but didn’t even missed a single play, which led to wonder why perhaps he wasn’t even checked through concussion protocol.

“I haven’t been given any information on that; in terms of the flow of the game, he took a couple shots, but typical Daniel, he just got up and bounced back,” Judge said. “They didn’t call down from the booth and the officials didn’t throw a flag, so I don’t know if there were enough red flags based on how he reacted and what they saw on the field.”

Jones was on the practice field Friday prior to the determination:

But, that shown, Judge said that there’s some grey area as to how long Jones may be out; the guess is that it’s not season-ending “at this time,” but any speculation either way is just that.

“There’s really no final decision on what it is,” Judge said of the injury. “Obviously we’re pushing to get him on the field as soon as he’s ready to go, but he wasn’t cleared for contact today. In terms of what it looks like in immediate weeks, there’s no answer to that. Everything else would be hypothetical or guessing at this point.”
