Dawgs' 5-star recruit taking an official visit to Nebraska on key Georgia weekend
Georgia commit Dylan Raiola taking a visit to Nebraska and Rusty Mansell explains whether or not it means a de-commit could be coming
As Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs navigate the transfer portal having lost a total of 12 players to date, the revolving door appears to now be impacting Dawgs’ recruits as it has been reported that 2023 commit Dylan Raiola is planning to take an official visit to Nebraska this week. Should the reports be found to be accurate, Raiola would be in Lincoln during a time period which he could be heading to Athens to enroll for bowl practice.
On Tuesday, Rusty Mansell of On3 Sports and a contributor to the Steakhouse, joined Sandra Golden and Rob Tribble to share his thoughts on the possibility of Raiola de-committing from Georgia to join the Cornhuskers and explained that communication between Smart and the 5-star quarterback is still open and that the door has not been closed for Raiola to end up in Athens. However, Mansell would tell Tribble that while he has not ruled the Dawgs being Raiola’s eventual landing spot, there are signs pointing towards Lincoln.
“Look, I don’t have to ask questions to know the writing’s probably on the wall with this one because he knows, when you’re supposed to be in Athens this weekend to start practice….Dylan Raiola was supposed to report this weekend….he’s going to be in Lincoln, Nebraska,” Mansell said after sharing an example of Walton offensive lineman and Georgia commit, Daniel Calhoun, reporting to Athens on Saturday once Walton’s season end on Wednesday.
“You can follow the trips and that’s kind of what’s going on,” Mansell added.
