As the 2024 NFL season nears, anticipation for what the Atlanta Falcons’ offense will look like with Kirk Cousins under center continues to build and on Thursday during The Steakhouse with Sandra Golden and Drew Butler, the two-midday host shared their thoughts on expectations for Cousins and crew.
“This is what excites me about the new Falcons coaching regime,” Butler told Golden as he expressed how the addition of offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, and the experience he brings having coached under Sean Mcvay, has him ready to see the Falcons in action this season.
“You better believe with Kirk Cousins, who is far more experienced and successful than any quarterback the Falcons have had in the last three years, they will 100 percent be getting their playmakers the football in the first 15 play scripts of the game,” Butler said of believing that players like Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts will be “excited to be in the game plan,” and believes that will lead to the Falcons scoring more points and create an exciting atmosphere inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
As the conversation continued, Golden noted that she believes Butler’s sentiments were visible during the Falcons OTA’s and there was a noticeable difference in the players’ demeanor during post workout interviews. “They looked different, they feel different. You want to know why, they’re engaged in that offense, they’re part of the game plan,” Golden said in response to the Butler’s comments.
