On Tuesday Andy & Randy were joined by DawgNationDaily Host Brandon Adams who talked about a number of topics about the Georgia Bulldogs including their matchup against in state rival Georgia Tech this Saturday but the conversation turned to Stetson Bennett and his popularity among all Georgia quarterbacks in the history of the program.
“From a popularity standpoint, I think Stetson Bennett is off the charts and probably the most popular,” Adams replied when asked by Randy about Stetson’s popularity and how it stacks up to other Georgia quarterbacks over time.
Adams went on to explain how there are two different types of Georgia fans and how they view Stetson differently: “There is a Georgia fan who is very very deeply entrenched in the online conversation…but that’s not real life and some of the debate that goes on about Bennett in these sort of digital conversations is not reflective of the larger Georgia fan base overall…to the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people who don’t spend every waking moment of their life going through tweets or battling back and forth on a message board, Stetson Bennett is not the least bit controversial. Stetson Bennett is the quarterback that led Georgia to a National Championship and that’s all they know about, that’s all they care about.”
Adams also added: “This is really one of the special careers coming to an end and obviously he (Stetson) has a chance to add to that with what happens in the postseason. But it should not be overlooked just how much he has been able to accomplish and just how I think revered this story will be and should be for years to come.
You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
