With the SEC Championship just days away from kicking off in the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, everyone is weighing in on who they feel will walk out victorious on Saturday. Outside of fans of the Tide, many in the sports world peg Georgia as the favorite to win the SEC title and for many, it simply comes down to Georgia being the overall better team. That is how former Georgia quarterback, Aaron Murray put it when he spoke with Dukes and Bell on Wednesday.

“If you take away the logos and just watch film from this season, Georgia’s been more dominate,” noting that although many would question who the Bulldogs competed against that could be considered a formidable opponent, to which Murray pointed out the fact that both Georgia and Alabama each faced Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, and Florida “and Georgia’s dominated every single one of those games,” Murray told Dukes and Bell.

Murray, who faced Alabama in 2012, when the Dogs loss 32-28 to the Tide in the SEC championship game that year, acknowledged that Alabama is still a “good football team” however Murray told Dukes and Bell that he felt Georgia was the more “elite” team. “When you look at Georgia, to me, they’re an elite football team. They have one of the best defenses we’ve seen in the past 20 years,” Murray said, adding that he felt the Georgia offense doesn’t get the credit they deserve. “This is a very good offense,” Murray added.
