Brandon Graham might be 35, but he can still play like a young man.

The Eagles defensive lineman has yet to record a sack this season, but that’s hardly an indictment on his play. Graham continues to wreak havoc on offensive lines, with one particular moment in Sunday’s win over the Rams sticking out.

In the first quarter with the Rams in the shotgun, Graham bull rushed Los Angeles center Coleman Shelton after he snapped the ball. Shelton didn’t stand a chance and got leveled, and though Graham didn’t end up getting to Matthew Stafford on the play, he forced a quick throw.

“Man, it felt good to definitely put somebody on their back,” Graham cracked Tuesday in his weekly appearance on the 94WIP Morning Show. “Oh man, like I tell some of the young guys, I just enjoy my role. If my role becomes (bigger), that’s cool too.

“But at this age right now, I’m feeling great, I’m coming out of these games clean. That’s really what I want, and to make sure that we’re getting these wins. And man, I’m definitely going to get on that board one of these days, I thought it was going to be this one, but it’s all good.”

Graham, who could be playing in his final NFL season, is the elder statesman on the defensive line. His on-field role isn’t as prominent as it once was, but he’s still an indispensable part of Philly’s operation.

And he’s just fine with that.

“That’s really what I feel my role is right now, make sure I’m ready for when that moment comes,” Graham said. “Get a good bull rush on somebody, hopefully affect the pass in any type of way. And just keep the guys level because I know how this game is played, they try to frustrate that D-line and keep us out because they respect us. It’s been fun.”
