If Bobby Witt Jr. wants his first career home run ball back, he better get a fishing net.

The Kansas City Royals rookie finally hit his first career home run on Tuesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals to give the team a 1-0 lead in the second inning.

But Witt may have some trouble keeping the milestone ball.

The home run went off a fans hand and back onto the field in front of Cardinals outfield Harrison Bader.

Bader, clearly (hopefully) unaware of the achievement, threw the ball way back into the stands. So far back, in fact, it landed into the water fountain at Kauffman Stadium.

As of this writing, we are not sure if the ball was retrieved out of the fountain but the video did appear to show someone ready to go with a net.

It’s going to make for one waterlogged memento for Witt, but also a unique story to tell about his first home run.
