We’re just days away the 2022 NBA draft and with the NBA Finals complete, the off-season is finally upon us and for some Atlanta Hawks fans, the time could not have come sooner as many are anxious to see what moves, if any the Hawks will make over the course of the next few months, beginning with Thursday’s drafts. Since Atlanta’s season ended back in April with a 5-1 series loss to the Miami Heat, the rumors and speculations of what would come in the future has ranged from signings of Bradley Beal or Donovan Mitchell, to Hawks forward John Collins being traded. Add to the mix that Hawks president, Travis Schlenk said in a recent interview that team will not make a “major overhaul”, the tension of expectations for fans continues to rise.

While the various conversations on what the Hawks should do have carried on, Jon Chuckery has stood firm on his beliefs that Atlanta will more than likely see what pieces they can add through free agency and take the best player available with the sixteenth pick on Thursday, should they not trade up of back. Although, Chuckery’s outlook may not be the sexy, big splash some Hawks fans are looking for, it could still make the team better if they do their homework on players and find the right pieces. On Monday, Chuckery was joined by Brad Rowland of Locked On Sports and the two discussed what Hawks moves could be made beginning with Thursday’s draft.

Chuckery kicked off the conversation by asking Rowland to share his thoughts on whether or not he believes the Hawks could possibly trade up of back on Thursday to which he responded, “I think most likely it’s still stay where they are followed by trading up, then trading back,” Rowland said although he admitted that he had not heard much in regards to them trading back. Later in the conversation, the two discussed the speculations of the Hawks moving on from Collins and Rowland shared that he believes that with all the current information that is circulating, it is “as likely as it’s ever been that John is moved,” however he does not believe it will happen.
