7A – For the second straight week, we have some shifting taking place in 7A. Idle Collins Hill remains a top of the class, but with Milton falling to North Cobb, they drop out of the top six while Walton and Mill Creek, both winners in their match ups on Friday, move up with Walton now No. 2 and Mill Creek No. 3. Lowndes bounced back from their season opening loss with a 44-34 win over Griffin, while Colquitt loss a tough one to Westlake dropping them to No. 6 and Cherokee, who’s off to a 2-0 start, ahead of them at No. 5.

6A – All remains the same. Each top six team in 6A was victorious this weekend with the exception of Rome, who was idle this week. However, it is worth noting that Westlake made a strong case to be considered the No. 1 team in the classification after they held on to beat Colquitt County 31-24 down in Packers country.

5A – The biggest change this week for 5A is Blessed Trinity falling to Marist on Friday, dropping them from No. 1 to No. 6 and moving everyone else up a ranking as they were all victorious last week with the exception of Creekside who had the week off. The Seminoles will have their hands full this week as they arguably have the toughest match up of the week in 5A as they will face Westlake, who is coming off the momentum of a tough win over Colquitt County. As for Blessed Trinity, it’s key to note that they were without a few key players in Friday’s loss.

4A – With both Perry and Cedartown being idle this week, the only changes were a flip flop at the top of the ranking. Although Marist opened up their season with a win over Blessed Trinity, giving head coach Alan Chadwick his 400th career win, it’s hard to ignore Jefferson’s 2-0 start and Friday’s 42-7 win over Central Gwinnett. Benedictine did suffer a loss but it was also to Central out of Miami so they remain at No. 3 and Carver-Columbus’ 34-8 win over Spencer allows them to hold onto the No. 6 spot.

3A – Oconee County keeps the No. 1 spot as they improved to 2-0 following their 27-19 win over Cedar Shoals and Cedar Grove came out the gate with a 52-10 win over Tucker in the head coaching debut of John Adams so they remain the No. 2 team. Appling County jumps into the No. 3 spot thanks to their 33-6 win over Clinch County, while last week’s No. 3, Crisp County falls to No. 5 following their 27-24 loss to Houston County. Idle Sandy Creek moved into the No. 4 spot and Westminster’s 21-14 loss to St. Pius drops them out of the top 6 and Thomson who comes off a 40-0 win over Grovetown moves into the No. 6 position.

2A – All top five teams in 2A were victorious this past week, so we don’t have any changes through positions one through five. However, last week’s No. 6 Haralson County fell 18-15 to Manchester, dropping them from the top six and moving Northeast in at No. 6. Northeast is off to a 2-0 start in which they opened up their season with a 33-28 win over Jones County and blanked Central 43-0 this past Friday.

1A Public – Unfortunately for Irwin County, their tough 18-15 loss to Fitzgerald drops them from the No. 1position down to No. 4 and moves Macon County in to No. 1, Metter into No. 2 and Pelham into No. 3. New comer Lincoln County comes in at No. 5 at they opened up their season on Friday with a 22-0 win over Bryan County. And another new comer, Bowdon wraps up the top six as they are off to a 2-0 start that includes Friday’s 32-28 win over Bremen.

1A Private – The top two teams remain the same as Trinity Christian improved to 2-0 after 54-3 win over Mount Vernon.
Fellowship Christian had the week off but remain at No. 2, meanwhile last week’s No. 3, Wesleyan falls to No. 6 after falling to Decatur 13-6 on Friday.
Calvary Day, who was No. 4 last week jumps to No. 3 following their 28-14 win over Bulloch Acadmey which has them off to a 2-0 start. And new to the top six is Whitefield Academy at No. 5. Whitefield is off to a 2-0 start and it was quite the week for them. After starting off the week preparing for Elbert County, COVID related issues forced a midweek schedule change which pitted Whitefield up against Darlington, who they would defeat 14-13. Out of the top six is last week’s No. 5, ELCA, who suffered their second straight loss, losing 52-28 to Ware County.
