Could Brock Bowers be a better Heisman candidate than Stetson Bennett

While Georgia is coming off a not so impressive 39-22 win over Kent State on Saturday, What stood out the most to fans was the performance of quarterback Stetson Bennett. Without a doubt, Bennett’s day under center on Saturday could definitely be considered his worse through the Dawgs first four games as he finished with 272 yards, completing 75 percent of his passes with no touchdowns and one interception.

And while Bennett may not have made an impression on Saturday, Georgia tight end, Brock Bowers continue to look like the best at the position in college football. So much so that 92-9 The Game’s Abe Gordon, threw out the question “Is Brock Bowers a better Heisman candidate right now than Stetson Bennett?” In Georgia’s last two games, Bowers has totaled five touchdowns, two receiving and three rushing, and has 276 total receiving yards and 88 total rushing yards so far this season.

As Gordon continued to share his thoughts on the debatable topic, he pointed out that Bennett may have a more challenging road in keeping his name in the conversation. “Stetson Bennett is competing with the numbers. Yardage and touchdowns and interceptions of CJ Stroud and Bryce Young,” Gordon noted. Click link above to hear more of Gordon’s thoughts.
