On Sunday, the Atlanta Braves wrapped up their three game weekend series with the Milwaukee Brewers with a 9-2 win to take the series 2-1. Sunday’s win made it just the fourth time this season the Braves have won two straight games as they have struggled to get a win streak longer than that going. Yet, with the win over the Brewers, who lead the NL Central, Atlanta improved to 14-16 and kept pace with NL East leading New York Mets, who the Braves currently trail by six games.

On Monday, Jon Chuckery was joined by Audacy MLB insider, Jon Heyman who told Chuckery that despite the Braves current position in the standings, he is not concerned about the Braves start. “I think they’re really good. I think once Acuna really gets rolling and he’s just starting to now, they have an outstanding team, they have a great lineup, I love their rotation, their bullpen is one of the best in the game, their record to me at this point is a fluke,” Heyman told Chuckery in Monday’s interview.

Heyman would go on to tell Chuckery that he believes there are some things the Braves could use such as a “left handed pitcher” but ultimately they “should still be one of the best teams in baseball”. Chuckery and Heyman continued their conversation on Atlanta and Heyman shared that while the Mets have been playing well and currently lead the division, but he “wouldn’t put too much stock in the huge lead,” however he believes the race will be close to the end and the Mets will not “runaway with it.
