Oh lord when it rains, it pours. Luke Combs may sing about it, but the Dawgs certainly illustrated it last Saturday when they fell to Alabama - again - in the SEC Championship Game in humiliating fashion. Kirby Smart is now 0-4 against his former program, with the two most recent losses coming by identical scores of 41-24.
Something has to improve and Jon Chuckery was blunt about it, "If you want to win two playoff games and bring a national championship game home, you start J.T. Daniels."

Many fans agreed with the sentiment that Daniels could have won that game for Georgia, but Randy was less certain. "I watched the game twice," he said. "J.T. would have made more plays probably, but the way the defense played? They had no answers!"
He makes a great point, too. Bryce Young dropped 461 total yards and 4 touchdowns, but most importantly the defense sacked him zero times. If you allow a performance like that, simply changing out the quarterback probably would have made little to no difference at all.
But who gives you the best chance to win on December 31st and then hopefully again in the national championship game. We know Stetson can beat teams like Florida, Kentucky, or Auburn. In fact, he can probably beat the vast majority of teams in the country, but can he beat these guys?
After a full summer and fall camp, Daniels was the clear starter. But following his oblique injury earlier in the season, Stetson Bennett was given the opportunity to take that job. Credit to Bennett for getting the job done, but this is a wholly different animal. The Bulldogs will be facing three of the top defenses in football and will need options. Bennett is certainly not the only reason that Georgia lost on Saturday, but he also didn't help matters in the game's most important position.
Look, this is the most promising season for the program to date. The cards have all lined up for the Bulldogs to bring home that elusive championship. The defense must be better, the running game needs to make a bigger impact, but ultimately the decision that Kirby makes at quarterback will be the difference-maker in whether or not that title finally comes back to Athens.
Whether it's Bennett or Daniels, it has to be right.
