With National Signing Day coming up on Wednesday, Chris Goforth and Harry Douglas welcomed Sports Illustrated college football recruiting analyst, John Garcia Jr. to the show. Chris and Harry were particularly interested in seeing what John thought about what Georgia was doing at the quarterback position.

Following the commitment of Gunner Stockton to Georgia earlier this week, Chris wanted to know if the modern college football program needed to pursue blue-chip quarterbacks in each class. The answer from John Garcia was a resounding yes.

“100%, you have to stack your quarterback room even if you already think it’s stacked like Georgia’s," Garcia told the guys. "You have to have a stacked quarterback room to compete. You don’t limp into a national title game with weakness at the quarterback position.”

Garcia highlighted the Dawgs' QB controversy this year and how the third guy to get a shot turned out to be “the best guy” and that’s a big credit to Kirby Smart and the recruiting staff.

The Dawgs recently signed Brock Vandagriff during the 2020 Early Signing Period and they picked up Gunner Stockton’s commitment this week.

According to Garcia, that only goes to highlight how effective Smart has been at recruiting elite quarterbacks.

“I think Georgia’s doing it as well or better than basically anybody at that quarterback position when it comes to recruiting,” Garcia said.
