HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Even when Zack Greinke is bad, he's at least entertaining.

The future Hall of Famer on Monday against the Detroit Tigers had his worst outing since being traded to the Houston Astros in 2019.

Greinke went 4 2/3, allowing 10 hits, six earned runs, striking out two, walking three and giving up three home runs.

Two of those walks came in the first inning and two of the home runs were on back-to-back first pitches in the third.

It was the most earned runs Greinke's allowed as an Astro and tied for the most hits he's allowed.

Don't let any of those facts get in the way of a good time.

Despite his overall dreadful performance, Greinke reached into his bag of tricks for another one of those slow curves he's become famous for over the years.

In the fifth inning with a 1-0 count to Renato Nunez, who'd already taken Greinke deep earlier in the game, Greinke tossed a 51.5 mph curveball.

The crowd at Minute Maid Park, watching Greinke pitch for the first time since he was pulled from Game 7 of the 2019 World Series, was in awe.

This pitch was even slower than the one last year in San Diego against the Padres.

Greinke has said he does this when he's indecisive. He and catcher Martin Maldonado clearly were not on the same page in that moment. Maldonado promptly visited the mound so he could communicate with Greinke directly.

While it was a disappointing outing for Greinke, he provided easily the most entertaining moment of the game up to that point.
