Cubs infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant was among several players who wore a microphone and was interviewed while on the field playing in the All-Star Game at Coors Field on Tuesday evening.

Predictably, Bryant was asked about his future with the Cubs organization as he’s a free agent-to-be and the trade deadline looms on July 30. And as he always does, Bryant handled the question with class, acknowledging that while uncertainty looms, he’s proud to wear a Cubs uniform.

But the subject even being broached at all by Fox broadcaster Joe Buck really irked Bryant’s father, Mike.

“I simply cannot express my disappointment at Joe Buck asking my son about his future with the Cubs while he was playing left field in the All-Star Game,” Mike told Evan Altman of Cubs Insider. “This was a classless act and has no place in the game. I’m so glad I was at the game and not watching it.

“There’s a time and a place for stuff like this, and this was neither. Kris deserves an apology.”
