Mark Melancon stumbled upon the perfect way to get warmed up both as a pitcher and as a fielder in Game 1 of the NLCS between the Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As Melancon got loose in preparation to earn a save for the Braves, who were up two runs at the time thanks to a ninth inning home run by Austin Riley and an RBI single from Marcell Ozuna. However, their lead was about to grow even more, taking away the official save opportunity from Melancon.

You can see another angle here.

With the Braves up 5-1, Melancon came into the game to finish off the Dodgers and retired Max Muncy, Will Smith and Cody Bellinger in 1-2-3 fashion.

While we're impressed with the casual catch he made, we're not ready to move him to the outfield quite yet. After all, he has yet to allow a run this postseason and is delivering filthy pitches night in and night out.
