According to MLB Network insider Jon Morosi, the Blue Jays, Yankees and Padres "have had trade talks with the Rangers" about Gallo.
The Rangers have expressed a desire to sign Gallo to a long-term deal, but as ESPN's Jeff Passan notes (subscription required), "the prospects of a deal coming together, sources said, is minimal after recent discussions."
Passan also speculated about Toronto getting involved in the Gallo sweepstakes, noting their "deep farm system" could be a fit since Gallo is still under club control in 2022.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic had previously reported on the Padres and Yankees' interest in Gallo.
The 27 year old has struggled mightily at the plate since the All-Star break, getting just two hits in his last 30 at-bats.
For the year, he's hitting .222 with 24 home runs and 52 RBI. His on-base percentage remains high at .380.
