Cam Akers enjoyed a strong debut season in 2020, taking control of the Rams’ backfield down the stretch with 625 rushing yards, sixth-most among NFL rookies. Entrenched as the lead back on a perennial playoff team, Akers has a lot going for him right now including an $890,592 base salary to look forward to this upcoming season. But at the end of the day, what use are wealth, fame and career success without a significant other to enjoy them with? Akers appears to have arrived at this crossroads.

The bachelor life has its perks, of course, but so does the stability of a long-term relationship, which Akers appears to be seeking. However, judging by some of the replies to his tweet, the former Florida State Seminole might not be single for long.

Whether he goes the dating app route or opts for a more conventional courtship, I’m confident Akers will succeed in his ongoing quest for love. But in the meantime, what’s the rush? Akers doesn’t even turn 22 until June.

If I were Akers, trying to meet women, I’d just show them the YouTube highlights of his game against New England in Week 14.
