The hits just keep on coming for the Baltimore Ravens.

After already losing running backs J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill to injuries for the season, it appears the Ravens are down two more key players as running back Gus Edwards and cornerback Marcus Peters suffered knee injuries on back-to-back play during practice on Thursday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens fear both players have torn their ACLs.

The injury to Edwards means that the Ravens have now lost three of their running backs within a matter of weeks.

Edwards was expected to carry the brunt of the touches in the running game with Dobbins out, but without Edwards the Ravens will likely turn to Ty’Son Williams — an undrafted rookie out of BYU.

The Ravens also signed veteran running back Le’Veon Bell to their practice squad on Wednesday and may need him to be ready to dress in time for the team’s opener on Monday against the Las Vegas Raiders as the backfield has become barren.

Trenton Cannon, who has 48 career rushes in three years, is the only other back listed on the depth chart.

Bell was cut by the Jets last year before being signed by the Chiefs, where he rushed for 254 yards on 63 touches in the regular season before he was essentially cut out of the offense and barely saw the field in the postseason.

The Ravens also added Devonta Freeman to their practice squad following news of Edwards' injury, per Schefter. Freeman worked out for the Ravens along with Bell earlier in the week.

With the Ravens desperate in the running game, perhaps Bell will get a chance to rejuvenate his career.

Meanwhile, the injury to Peters, a two-time All-Pro, is also a devastating one to a Ravens defense that already lost key pass rushers in Yannick Ngakoue and Matthew Judon in free agency.

Anthony Averett, who played in 10 games last year, is listed as the backup. He has 11 career pass deflections and zero interceptions in three seasons in the NFL.
