'Remarkable' Braves are good as they are with injuries

Despite dealing with injuries to key players, the Braves have the second best record in MLB

At 12-4 heading into their series with the San Diego Padres on Monday, the Atlanta Braves have the second best record in Major League Baseball, however what is more impressive than their start to the season, is the fact that Atlanta has been playing well despite not getting contributions from several key players. Whether injury related or simply lack of production, the Braves’ have already had their fair share of issues, yet here they are currently winners of six in a row and sitting at the top of the NL East.

“They have done this without some contributions from some of their key people,” 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery stated on Monday night, pointing to the injuries to Kyle Wright and Max Fried that has limited their usage to start the season, then the loss of Ian Anderson for the remainder of the season due to Tommy John surgery and most recently Michael Harris going to the 10 day IL with back issues. Couple all of the injuries with the down production of Marcell Ozuna and until this past weekend, Ozzie Albies, the Braves have truly given fans a reason to be encouraged about how the season is going.

“It is kind of remarkable in some ways that the Braves have been good as what they are at 12-4,” Chuckery said, however acknowledging that Atlanta has faced some of the least competitive teams, yet with no production from players like Rosario and Ozuna in addition to the injuries to key players, Atlanta has “the second most wins of anybody in major league baseball,” Chuckery added.
