The Atlanta Braves have continued to keep themselves in the “best team in baseball” conversations as the regular season heads into its final stretch with under two months of play to go. And while Atlanta has convincingly positioned themselves at the top of the Majors, getting it done with arguably the dominant lineup in MLB, 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery began a conversation with listeners, allowing them to share their thoughts on which Braves’ player has had the most surprising season.
From Sean Murphy to Matt Olson to Ozzie Albies, Chuckery list several Atlanta players that have been producing for the team with unexpected numbers, however when the evening host asked producer, DA-DA and listeners to share their thoughts, both Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider’s names come up in the conversation. “Not that I didn’t think he was a great player, but still trying to see if he was good from injury and in all honesty, I think we thought the numbers would be there, but his number are like ridiculous,” DA-DA responded to the Chuckery question.
As the conversation continued, Chuckery backed DA-DA’s comments stating the fact the Acuna Jr. is right at the top of the league in batting average, has 112 runs scored in 123 games played, 29 doubles, 28 homeruns, 56 stolen bases “the .331 batting average, we knew his on base has been really good the last couple of years, but .331 with a .417 on base with a .569 slugging to go along with it, yeah, it’s been an absurd season, Chuckery said in regards to Acuna Jr. adding that he does not see how the Braves’ slugger could be beat out for the NL MVP.
