Schlereth: There’s not enough Ghee butter for Aaron Rodgers to play in a few weeks

Aaron Rodgers raised some eyebrows when he said that he might be able to return in a few weeks. The New York Jets quarterback walked back those comments a bit, but he’s been throwing the football and working towards a return.

NFL Insider Mark Schlereth of the Audacy original podcast “Stinkin Truth” sounded off on Rodgers’ comments and speculated what the quarterback’s definition of “few” is.

“He said ‘a few weeks.’ I saw the video clip. He did say ‘a few weeks,’” Schlereth said (22:22 in player above). “Some people’s ‘few’ is three. I think most people in America their ‘few’ would be three. Some people’s ‘few’ is 12 weeks. It just depends on what your ‘few’ means.”

Schlereth doesn’t think there’s a chance that Rodgers can return from his torn Achilles in the near future.

“If they made it to the playoffs, and then he would assess where he’s at and if he would be effective,” Schlereth continued. “Zero chance of him being back in three weeks.”

Rodgers famously went on a 12-day cleanse, including three days of consuming Ghee butter until he evacuated out of both ends. Even that wouldn’t help him here.

“I don’t think we produce enough Ghee butter in this country to have him back in three weeks,” Schlereth said. “You could eat vats of Ghee butter and have diarrhea for months and still not be ready to play.”

The Jets are still in the playoff picture which is their only realistic hope of Rodgers returning. They travel to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Sunday Night Football this week.
