So who’s on the ‘same page’ in SEC conference game talks

Jon Chuckery is joined by ESPN's Heather Dinich to talk the latest college football headlines

Following last week’s SEC spring meetings in Destin, Florida there has still be some questions in regards to the announcement that the conference voted to remain with an eight game conference schedule for the 2023 and 2024 seasons for now versus a nine game conference schedule. And on Monday, in a conversation with ESPN’s lead college football writer, Heather Dinich, 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery asked Dinich to share her thoughts as to why the decision to move to nine games appears to be a challenge.

“The simple fact that some of these people can’t agree on it,” Dinich replied to Chuckery’s question. And while the ESPN writer acknowledges that she was not in attendance at the Florida meetings to see exactly which schools were “not on the same page”, she shared that conversations with SEC Commissioner, Greg Sankey, lead her to believe that he may be “leaning” in the direction of adding a ninth conference game. “But ultimately, he doesn’t have the final vote,” Dinich added.
