The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a great start in the 2021 season after a big win over Clemson to start the year, followed by a blowout victory over UAB.
Currently ranked #2 in all the major polls, the Bulldogs should have a clear path to get to the College Football Playoff if they can handle their business on the field down the stretch of the SEC schedule.
But for all the early season success, the Bulldogs have not shown much of a running game in the first two weeks of the season.
Currently ranked near the bottom of the conference in rushing, and with starting QB JT Daniels not at 100%, the time is now for the UGA running game to get into gear.
On his weekly show, Nick Kayal expressed his concerns about whether the Dawgs can reach the promise land, and hoist the National Championship Trophy at the end of the year, if the UGA running attack does not improve and improve signifigantly.
“The ground game through the first two weeks, has not been something to make you want to pound your chest over”, said Nick when discussing the struggles of the UGA running attack.
Nick went on to acknowledge that the Bulldogs absolutely have the talent in the backfield to be a dynamic rushing team but they have to step it up soon.
“Only one averaging 5-yds per carry” and “several under 4-yds per carry”, Nick said in frustration.
So as the season moves along, Nick and all of Dawg Nation is hoping the likes of Zamir “Zeus” White, James Cook, and the rest of the UGA backfield can get on track and help bring a natty back to Athens.
