The Atlanta Falcons are preparing for another NFC opponent as they will travel to take on the Carolina Panthers and look to sweep the season series. In week one, the Falcons defeated the Panthers 24-10, in a game that many believed Atlanta should win as the Panthers, who hold the NFL’s worst record at 1-12, were considered by many in rebuild mode with rookie quarterback, Bryce Young, under center.
Fast forward to now and the Falcons, along with the Saints and Buccaneers all sit at 6-7, with the Falcons having split the division series with the Bucs and are 1-0 against the Saints, making the NFC South very much up for grabs in addition to being the worst division in NFL history in terms of winning percentage. However, despite the up and down season of the Falcons, Steak Shapiro stated on The Steakhouse on Wednesday, that he still believes the Falcons will make the playoffs and host a playoff game.
However, Shapiro added that as he looks at the Falcons, outside of possibly the running back position, with Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson, in which he believes Atlanta is in “pretty good shape”. And while Steak believes that the Falcons should not have trouble going up to Charlotte and picking up the win, the fact that Atlanta is only favored by three points gives him reason to be concerned. “You’re walking in there in a must win and you’re favored by three and a half,” Shapiro explained.
