Steph Curry got tripped up by a beer vendor at the end of the first half in Sunday’s Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Golden State went on to win 109-100 and take a 3-0 series lead.
After Steph hoisted a 3-point shot and faded toward the sideline, he got tangled up with a vendor who was kneeling courtside at American Airlines Center and taking an order from a fan. Curry looked to be upset but nothing else happened with the accident, as he appeared to avoid any injury.
Steph has a history of foot and ankle injuries and the last thing basketball fans want to see is Curry get injured on a non-basketball play on the floor.
After the game, Steph said he understood that the vendor was doing his job.
"There's 30 seconds before halftime," Curry said. "If you order a drink, just wait until halftime. I don't know why they needed to deliver it right then. Thankfully I was alright. He was doing his job, so hopefully he got a big tip."
At halftime, Curry had a game-high 16 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. With about two minutes left in the second quarter, Curry hit a ridiculous trifecta in front of the Warriors bench and was looking at his teammates when it went in. He finished with 31 points and 11 assists on 10-of-20 shooting and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.
The Wariors led 48-47 at the break, but lost veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. in the second quarter due to a left foot injury. Like they did in Game 2, the Warriors used a strong second-half surge to close out the Mavs.
Before Steph could even return to the floor for the second half, the memes and jokes started rolling in:
