3.4 earthquake shakes West LA and South Bay

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A small earthquake rattled much of West Los Angeles and the South Bay today, but there were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 5:08 p.m. and had a magnitude of 3.4.

The quake was centered 2.5 miles north-northwest of El Segundo and 2.6 miles west-southwest of Inglewood.

On the USGS website, residents reported feeling the quake in an area covering the bulk of the westside, as far south as Rancho Palos Verdes, north to the area of North Hollywood and stretching from Santa Monica to East Los Angeles.
