A man was taken into custody Thursday after barricading himself in a room at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills hotel.

Officers went to the hotel at 9850 Wilshire Blvd., at Santa Monica Boulevard, "regarding an armed subject," Beverly Hills police Lt. Andrew Myers told City News Service.

The man, whose name was not immediately available for release, was taken into custody late Thursday morning with the assistance of crisis negotiators, Myers said. No injuries were reported.

Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards were closed in the area while an investigation was conducted.
