SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - A big rig slammed into the center divider of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Santa Clarita Monday morning.

The crash was reported to the Los Angeles County Fire Department at 2:37 a.m. on the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway near Soledad Canyon Road, Firefighter Christian Reynoso told City News Service.

A witness told the California Highway Patrol the front of the truck was caved in against the center divider. The CHP was also informed the tanker trailer attached to the semi-tractor was empty, but the rig was jack-knifed and blocking lanes.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 2:50 a.m. and cleared at 3:11 a.m., Reynoso said. Paramedics did not take anyone to a hospital, so it appeared the driver was not hurt.

The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down two lanes of the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway.
