VIDEO: Police release footage of suspect in sexual assault case at Chapman University

Students at Chapman University are on high alert after an attempted sexual assault on campus last Friday.

The attack happened around 12:51 a.m. at Henley Hall, a residential building on campus, according to a statement released by the university. The Orange Police Department has released surveillance video of the suspect provided to them by Chapman University.

Witnesses told police the suspect was wearing a skeleton mask and all black clothing. He was described only as a man with a light complexion who stands just over six feet tall and is thin.

The Orange Police Department increased campus patrols over the weekend and continue to search for the suspect. KNX called to see if the increased patrols will continue. So far, OPD has not responded.

The university issued the following tips for traveling safely while on campus late at night:

--Travel in pairs, especially in remote areas.

--Be aware of your surroundings at all times.

--Immediately report any suspicious person to police.
