The fire was reported at 11:50 a.m. Friday in the 3800 block of West 27th Street, between Seventh Avenue and Edgehill Drive, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Thirty-six firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the flames within 16 minutes, Stewart said. The building was described as a two-story, garden-style apartment complex.
One woman was evaluated at the scene for possible injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital, Stewart said.
