Khloé Kardashian revealed Friday that she and her 3-year-old daughter, True Thompson, have tested positive for COVID-19.
The 37-year-old reality show star revealed the news in a tweet to her fans just after 1 p.m. It remains unclear when the two received their positive results.
“Hi guys I wanted to let you know True and I tested positive for Covid,” Kardashian wrote. “I’ve had to cancel several commitments and I’m sorry I won’t be able to make those happen.”
She added that she has been vaccinated against the virus, “so all will be ok.”
“We will be over here in quarantine and following current guidelines,” Kardashian concluded.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breakthrough cases are expected with any vaccine, however, evidence shows that those who are vaccinated may experience and less severe illness than those who are not.
The CDC recommends continuing to wear a face covering after receiving a vaccine if “you live in an area with substantial or high transmission of COVID-19.”
“Be safe everyone,” Kardashian wrote in a follow-up tweet.
Kardashian was previously diagnosed with COVID-19 near the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
