One day later, around 10:30 a.m., LASD said the same car was involved in a crash with another driver on San Gabriel Boulevard near South Garvey Avenue in Rosemead.

LASD Sgt. Richard Lewis said so far, the department has not been able to confirm if Coc was driving the car that day, but said whoever was, is responsible for the death of a 61-year-old man who approached the car after the crash to talk to the driver of the Altima.

“The driver of the [Altima] reverses the car, at which point our victim...his feet become entangled with the driver’s left front wheel and he is pulled underneath,” Lewis said, adding that the victim died of his injuries two days later.

LASD said Coc did not match witness descriptions of the suspect involved in the hit-and-run, and added that they believe he could be a potential victim of another crime, or might have information about the hit-and-run.

The Altima was found the same day as the fatal incident, but neither Coc nor the driver of the vehicle were found nearby — which is why investigators are considering the teen a person of interest in the case.

Anyone with information on the his whereabouts, or on the death investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
