Man charged with abusing 2-month-old son in Santa Ana

A 32-year-old man was charged Wednesday with abusing his 2-month-old son in Santa Ana.

Joel Molinas was charged with four felony counts of child abuse and endangerment with sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury on a child younger than 5, according to court records.

Molinas was accused of abusing the baby on Jan. 1 and Dec. 1, according to the criminal complaint.

The baby was taken to Children's Hospital Orange County with injuries, leading police to arrest the father, according to Officer Natalie Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department.
