The NBA has found no evidence that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer broke the rules by funneling money to star Kawhi Leonard, according to a report by ESPN.

The report, published on Monday, also said that investigators are focused on whether basic introductions to team sponsors violated league rules.

Shortly after the article was published, officials with the NBA released a statement saying the article had "numerous and significant inaccuracies."

“The results in this matter will be made clear once the investigation is concluded,” the statement continued.

Officials with the Clippers also released a statement insisting that connecting players with team partners is standard practice.

Ballmer has denied any wrongdoing in this investigation, which has been going on for almost a year.

Meanwhile, a trade sending Leonard to the Toronto Raptors is on hold while this all plays out. ESPN says the league wants to resolve the whole thing before the season starts.
