A large fire destroyed a Pacific Palisades home early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire at the hillside home and keep the fire from spreading.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 78 firefighters were dispatched to a partially collapsed home on the 700 block of North Paseo Miramar where the fire was blazing. Along with the crew of firefighters on the ground, a helicopter was sent to the scene.

CBS LA shared cell phone footage of the fire on twitter.

Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart told City News Service there was heavy fire when the firefighters arrived.

Crews were able to contain the fire in a little under 2 hours, but there were a few small pockets of fire that crews worked to extinguish after the main fire was contained. Crews were able to prevent the fire from extending into the adjacent brush.

No injuries have been reported. CBS LA reported everyone seemed to have gotten out of the home safely.

LAFD Urban Search and Rescue and LA Dept of Building and Safety, which is expected to be on the scene by 6:30 a.m., are evaluating the structure's stability and if there is any shoring need for shoring up the hillside home.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
