Missing California wedding guest found dead in river

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Two women who went missing last Sunday were found submerged in a vehicle in the Stanislaus River on Tuesday, according to a release issued by the Ripon Police Department.

The two women, identified as Alyssa Ros, 23, of Long Beach, CA and Xylona Gama, 22, of Stockton were last seen attending a wedding in the area on Sunday at the Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon, according to reporting by the Modesto Bee.

They were reported missing to the police, and on Tuesday one of the country club employees that a vehicle was submerged in the river near a southeastern area of the golf course.

Based on the information from the already ongoing missing persons investigation open at the police department, the car description matched the one reported missing.

Several members of the department, along with Firefighter and Rescue personnel responded to the scene to investigate and recover the vehicle from the water.

When the car was recovered, the Ros and Gama were found dead inside.
