Five Things You Need To Know For Thursday, December 3rd, 2020:

 

1.  Reynolds Wrap is holding a contest right now where you can submit your original cookie recipe that uses a, quote, "unexpected or wacky ingredient" and if it gets picked, you'll win $5,000 and your recipe shared around the world. 

2. If you live in the City of Greensboro, your trash day may change!  The council has moved about 10,000 people's trash day to another day and imposed a fine for people who leave their bin out past midnight the day of collection. 

3.  On this date in 1910, The neon light was displayed for the first time at the Paris Motor Show at the Grand Palace.

4. Every night from Dec. 4–17 you'll have a chance to see anywhere from 50 to 120 bright shooting stars per hour in this year's meteor shower grand finale.

5. (Fun Fact): The North and South Poles don't officially have time zones.  In the North Pole, each research station uses the time from its home country.  And in the South, since people mostly fly there from New Zealand, that's the time they use.
