Tyson is a handsome 64 lb, 4 year old  American Pit Bull/Terrier mix. He came to GCAS as a stray, so there's not much background information on him. He is a sweet and very wiggly boy who loves scratches. He is well behaved and already knows how to sit and is eager to learn more! He may thrive best in a home where he is the only dog and can get all the snuggles for himself. He is heartworm positive. This is a curable condition, and he cannot transmit it to other animals. He is eligible for the Have-A-Heart program (see below for more details.)

If you're looking for a companion, look no further than at your local animal shelter. Stop by, see the animals, and don't forget to love on Tyson while you're there!

GCAS requires an adoption appointment to meet all shelter animals. You can call 336-641-3401 for an appointment. Appointments are available from 12p-3p weekdays (Mondays and Wednesdays-Fridays), and 12p-4p on weekends (Saturday-Sunday.)

Be sure to stay up to date on the latest events: The GCAS has their Heartworm Treatment Deal! You get 30% off the treatment needed for your animal, they work closely with Oak Ridge Veterinarians (and hope to have more Vets addded) and they design a treatment plan tailored to fit your pups needs!

If you'd like more information on any of the adoptable pets at Guilford County Animal Shelter please contact 336-641-3400 or check out their website. If you'd like to donate to the shelter, the animals are always in need of blankets, towels and treats!
