1. (Courtesy of WXII): A deputy saved the day at a Carver High School basketball game on Friday, according to a Facebook post from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Gregory-Phillips, aka "Flo" volunteered to sing the National Anthem when the school had technical difficulties during the game.
2. A portion of the sun has broken off. That portion is now in a tornado-like swirl around the North Pole of the sun. The sun is emitting solar flares. NASA is studying the tornado to see if it will have any effect on Earth.
3. Mars, the candy company, has been fined $14,500 because two workers fell into a tank of chocolate while doing maintenance work at a Pennsylvania confectionery factory. First Responders cut a hole in the tank to free the men. They were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released.
4. National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day.
5. (Fun Fact): Alfred Hitchcock was afraid of the dark, crowds, solitude, and . . . eggs.
