Five Things for Tuesday:
1. Two elderly passengers purchased a ticket for their cello on an American Airlines flight. The passengers flew from Palm Springs, California to Dallas. A gate agent told them they would be unable to seat the cello on the second leg of their flight even though they purchased a ticket for it. The couple checked the cello and American gave the couple a refund and flight credit.
2. Australia's University of Canberra reveals that men like eating meat because it makes them feel manly. No...it's because meat is good people.
3. Portofino, Italy is fining tourists $300 for taking selfies. City officials say tourists are causing chaos when they stop to take selfies in front of picturesque spots. The city has created no loitering zones where tourists are not allowed to take pictures of themselves between 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
4. It's National Hairstylist Appreciation Day.
5. In 1949, 75% of Chinese women were illiterate. Today, China has one of the lowest rates of female illiteracy in the world . . . and the highest percentage of self-made female billionaires.
