Amber Heard is a proud new mother.
On Thursday, the 35-year-old actress announced the arrival of her first baby, a girl named Oonagh Paige Heard.
"I’m so excited to share this news with you," Heard captioned a photo holding her bundle of joy. "Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib."
The “Magic Mike XL” star went on to reveal her daughter was born nearly three months ago.
"A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this," she added. "My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life."
According to US Weekly, the actress welcomed her baby via a surrogate.
Heard was previously married to Johnny Depp from 2015 to 2017. The pair, who met while filming the 2011 film "The Rum Diary," have been involved in several contentious legal battles, which continue to this day.
According to the AP, Depp is currently suing Heard for $50 million over a Washington Post article she wrote on domestic violence. The trial has been delayed until 2022, the outlet noted.
Following her divorce, Heard dated Tesla CEO Elon Musk and “It: Chapter Two” director Andy Muschietti. Most recently, she’s been linked to cinematographer Bianca Butti.
Heard will next be seen reprising her role of Meera opposite Jason Momoa in the upcoming “Aquaman” sequel, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
The film is scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022.
