Earlier this year Netflix announced it was shuttering it’s DVD-by-mail option after 25 years, but is giving its disc users one last offer before its gone.
Netflix sent an email to the last users with DVD plans about a “finale surprise.” For those that activate the offer, 10 extra discs from their queue would be sent on Sept. 29, the final day of the service.
“Let’s have some fun for our finale,” the email said, according to Collider. “You won’t know if any extra envelopes are headed your way until they arrive in your mailbox!”
Eligible customers were then instructed to click a link to get into the promotion. The streaming giant did state things were subject to “limited quantity” and “while supplies last.”
“We wish you happy viewing and truly thank you for being part of our final season. Enjoy each and every red envelope,” it concluded.
Netflix will accept returns of DVDs until Oct. 27, 2023.
The company began offering streaming video in 2007 as part of its DVD subscription plans.
