“Land” came together for Hubbard in a writing session in Nashville’s Music Row. “I said I got this title that I think would be cool called ‘Land,’ and I hadn't really fully wrapped my head around how I want to write this song, but I think it's cool concept,” Hubbard shares, looking back on the session where he wrote the track. “We kind of bounced around for a few hours and next thing you know had a really cool chorus and dove in and realized we kinda had something special.”
“Without underselling the day, it was an awesome day in Nashville, as a songwriter it was the perfect example of what it's like to be a part of this creative environment in this community of writers, they get together and chase hits every day, and to show up on Music Row at a buddy's house and walk out of there 4 hours later with something you're really proud of, something that was meaningful, something that had a lot of cool melodies, a lot of hooky lines, It's really all a songwriter can ever ask for so I'm extremely grateful for that day, for those guys, and the song we got from it.”
Ultimately Hubbard hopes that “Land” is encouragement for fans that might be going through something. “I know for me, you know, when you're in those seasons where things aren't going quite as planned, you know, you feel so defeated and at times it can be really difficult and I just hope they feel like they're not alone.”
“I hope they feel encouraged by this song and inspired to keep pushing, to keep moving, to get back up, and honestly probably at the end of the day from my experience I hope they also feel from this song that, hey once you get through it a lot of times you realize why you went through it."
