Zac Efron opened up about the late Matthew Perry, his costar in “17 Again.”
Efron was walking the red carpet for the premiere of his new drama “The Iron Claw” in Dallas, and commented on if he would be interested in playing Perry in a biopic. Perry had previously said he’d like Efron in the role, according to PEOPLE.
"I'm honored to hear he was thinking of me to play him," Efron said. "We'll see. I'd be honored to do it."
Efron then recounted the wonderful time he had starring alongside Perry in the 2009 comedy “17 Again.”
"He was a mentor to me, and we made a really cool film together," he said. "I looked up to him, I learned comedic timing from that guy. I mean, when we were filming '17 Again,' it was so surreal for me to look across and have him be there, because I've learned so much from him, from his whole life."
Perry passed away in October in California.
