The Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitaion & Sanctuary in Iowa posted a Facebook message asking followers to send the clasps of their old bras to help heal broken turtle shells.
The post ended up going viral, and now the center has boxes of bras from across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom!
Wildthunder currently only has one turtle with a broken shell, so the bras will be kept for any future rescues. They are also reaching out to our rehabilitation centers to share the bra-wealth!
The center is also in need of flat sheets, bath towels, non-clumping clay cat litter, and medical supplies.
