PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Diamondbacks scored early and kept adding on while the Pirates offense struggled to get going Wednesday night as Arizona defeat Pittsburgh 11-2 to take the first three games of the series.

Pirates starting pitcher Jordan Lyles made his 4th start of the season and tonight did not go as well as the first three.  Lyles was touched up for 5 runs by the Diamondbacks through 5 innings, including giving up 2 solo home runs to Nick Ahmed and Ketel Marte.

With the exception of those two solo home runs, Diamondbacks pitcher Merrill Kelly was able to keep the Pirates bats silenced. Only giving up a double to Kang and three singles spread out over 7 innings of work.

The offense has struggled the past few games and Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle was asked postgame if he believes this offense will wake up sooner rather than later.
