PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have the 21st pick in the first round of the 2019 NHL draft, but Penguins writer Sean Gentille says that they should trade the pick.
"Why would you keep it!? If there's a deal out there to make them better, do it," said Gentille.
Sean believes that the amount of time left for this team is ticking away and so now is the time to win.
"I think what it boils down to is they are going to be terrible in four years or however long. They are going to be awful. There's no sense in pretending otherwise," said Gentille.
"It does them no good to have a player contributing marginally in four years. It doesn't make any sense. That's the time for them to get terrible and actually rebuild. No 21st pick is going to save them from a rebuild."
When you have guys like Sidney Crobsy and Evgeni Malkin you have to be in win now mode now.
"I'm not bullish on them moving forward but I do think that division is going to be really good."
