22-year-old Knott was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round of the NHL Draft in 2015, and is in the final year of his three-year entry-level contract.
The 6-foot-3 forward, who has 5 goals and 4 assists in the 13 games he has played for the Indy Fuel of the ECHL this year, will be assigned to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.
