John Marino vs. Hurricanes

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- After snapping a 6-game losing streak with consecutive wins against Ottawa and Buffalo, the Penguins hosted two Eastern Conference teams gunning for playoff spots at home.

And they failed. Against both.

A 5-2 loss to rival Washington Saturday was followed up by a 6-2 loss to Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

The Fan Morning Show expressed how they are left feeling about this team after this past weekend.

Colin Dunlap said, "I still think, and maybe this is what people don't want to hear this morning, I still think there's a lot of hockey left to be played. They are not OK right now, but there is absolutely, positively nothing decided on the 9th day of March."

Colin is fending off the panic, saying the Pens have time to figure things out and saying that the regular season and postseason are two completely different animals. It's all about just finding a way to get in.

Chris Mack meanwhile wondered, "Why did this team play so well earlier this season without Malkin for a time, without Crosby for a time, with Murray in the dumps for a while? Why did this team seem to focus on the little details without important pieces like Brian Dumoulin and now that they are as close to healthy as a team can get, outside of obviously the very big absence of Jake Guentzel, they don't hammer down on those details?"

Jeff Hathhorn, filling in for Jim Colony in the anchor spot, came out of the gate and said that although it's sacreligious for Pens' fans, Sidney Crosby "sucked" on Sunday and ripped the Penguins' powerplay for trying to make the perfect pass too much and not shooting the puck enough.

The guys got into all of the other issues ailing this team right now and how things can be fixed and fixed quickly before it goes too far sideways.
